When users, including children under 13, create an account on ClayPiggy.com, the website asks them to select a name for their account, a screen name (also referred to as a piggy name), a password and to provide his or her parent or guardian's email address. No additional personally identifying information is required.
If the user has already enrolled with ClayPiggy.com and returns to interact with the website again, we request certain screen name and password to access his or her Clay Piggy account.
Occasionally, ClayPiggy.com sends out updates regarding new site features, via parent announcements and our newsletter. We also need to contact you regarding any Customer Service queries you submit, such as password retrieval. We use parent's email address provided in these instances.
Upon activation of an account, the information submitted will be used by Clay Piggy to create a personalized piggy and will allow the registered user to participate on the ClayPiggy.com website, which contains a variety of interactive community features. Within those features, users are identified in the community by their screen name. This limited (and non-personal) identifying information, accompanied by a picture of their piggy, will be displayed to the user or kid's friends and others who have obtained the user or kid's screen name. Kids can make friends only if they see the other kid's piggy in the community area. The recipient must accept the invitation before the two can communicate.
Once an invitation is accepted, the two become online "friends" and can use the site to leave moderated messages.
Parents and legal guardians of kids who are members of ClayPiggy.com have certain rights under COPPA, and Clay Piggy recognizes those rights. Parents/guardians can consent to collection and use of a kid's personally identifiable information (PII) without consenting to the disclosure of information to third parties. Currently the only identifiable information we collect from children is the parent email address.
A child's participation or access to an activity on our site is not conditioned on their providing more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for the activity. Parents/guardians can review information their children have contributed to ClayPiggy.com, request that Clay Piggy delete that information, and refuse to allow Clay Piggy to collect further information from their kids by contacting our Customer Services department by email at email@example.com. Parents should include their kid's Piggy Name and the registered (parent's) email address in the email so we can better assist them with their inquiry or request. Clay Piggy may ask additional questions or take other steps to verify the identity of parents/guardians before responding to a request to review or delete their kid's information, or a request to refuse further collection from kids.
Clay Piggy does not share, rent or trade personally identifying information about our registered users with non-affiliated third parties (i.e., companies who are not one of our corporate affiliates or who are not providing support to the internal operations of our company) for their promotional purposes.Clay Piggy makes every reasonable effort to disallow and discourage users and kids from sharing personally identifying information with each other via the community features via a filter system and live moderators. The only information that can be openly shared in the ClayPiggy.com community features are screen names (and kids are cautioned not to select their real names) and moderated messages. Users and kids who use the Chat or Messages feature do have the opportunity to draft their own messages to their friends, but we do not prompt any site users to provide any identifying information about themselves.
We respond to subpoenas, court orders and other legal processes, or make use of information in exercising our legal rights or establishing defense against legal claims.
We constantly strive to provide the best services. Changes to this policy may be required to keep apace with changing technology and threats, and as new or changed services are released. We expect most such changes to be minor, but there may be cases where changes may be more significant. In such cases we will first provide prominent notice to users who are affected.
